Notice of Public Comment – Conversion of Land and Water Conservation Fund Land for Construction on New Connors Elementary School

The City of Lewiston is seeking public comments regarding an Environmental Assessment, as required by the National Park Service (NPS), Regarding Conversion of an existing Land and Water Conservation Fund Act (LWCF) Section 6(F) outdoor recreation area for construction of the New Connors Elementary School located at Franklin Pasture at the intersection of East Avenue and Bartlett Street. Replacement outdoor recreation areas have been identified at 280 Bartlett Street, 119 Walnut Street, and 76 Cote Street, all in Lewiston, Maine.
Public comment on the Environmental Assessment for these replacement parcels is being sought.
Copies of the Environmental Assessment may be viewed at the City of Lewiston City Hall Clerks Office, 27 Pine Street Lewiston, Lewiston Public Schools Superintendent’s office at 36 Oak Street and the Lewiston Public Library at 200 Lisbon Street.
